Step Up Stratford
One of the most important things we do besides helping people in need is inspiring others to help as well. We are so excited to announce that Stratford High School is becoming our partner with their new club, Step Up Stratford.
Stratford students have served the homeless with us for the past two years as part of the Stratford Big Day of giving . The National Honor Society kids have also helped organize our donations and distribute them to the homeless. They also helped with our Saturday Sundae ice cream party for the homeless.
After spending a few afternoons with us, these kids were so inspired that they wanted to pay it forward. We can't wait for many more events with these amazing teenagers.
Step Up Teams Up With AVDA
Step Up Houston is teaming up with AVDA (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse) by adopting families. We will send out a WISH LIST from each family on a periodic basis, and especially for the Holidays. Let us know if you are interested in adopting a family in need.
Items Most Needed
It seems like it will never cool down, but the homeless always need specific items to make it through the hotter months, and also when the temps dip down in the winter.
If you're cleaning out your closet and have the following items to donate, please contact us:
* Blankets, Socks, Shorts, Shoes, T-Shirts, Luggage, Tote bags, Backpacks
* New items Needed: Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Deodorant, Razors, Soaps, Lotion, Shampoo
We have also created an Amazon link to purchase these items. If you purchase through our link, they come straight to us. You've done a great deed for someone in need and you barely have to lift a finger!
